Dissolvement of Upper House in Japan

Yesterday Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi of Japan dissloved the National Assembel which is the Lower House in Japan as the draft of the bill to privatize the postal saving system was rejected at the Upper House. Most mass media in Japan seem to be of the opinion that Prime Minister's leadership in LDP has weakened and that the bill was not properly explained to the opposition group withing LDP. However, the largest opposition party, the Democratic Party is also against the privatization of the postal saving system seemingly for the reason that there were several more important issues and that the plan to privatize was not dule explained. There is a chance that the Prime Minister appealed to the Japanese public that this was a dissolvement of privatizing postal saving system and that no fundamental reform would be possible unless the plan to privatize postal saving becomes possible. Old LDP organization has to change or is forced to change, whereas the Democratic party could not be too optimistic as there should be not a few congressmen within the party are for the privatization plan. Indeed the trend in Japan is for the reform and privatization, otherwise no substantial cut in the expense by the government is possible and Japanese people have to pay for it. What seems to be at stake is which party would take lead, but what really is at stake is if the Japanese voters are matured enough to cast votes that would decide the future of this country. Also all Japanese media is expected to show how reliable their leaderships are.
